Publication Ethics

JEI: Jurnal Edukasi Inovatif is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher.

1. Editorial Ethics

Editors of JEI are responsible for:

  • Evaluating submitted manuscripts solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, significance, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
  • Ensuring a fair, objective, transparent, and unbiased peer-review process.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts and author information throughout the editorial and review process.
  • Avoiding conflicts of interest and refraining from handling manuscripts in which they have competing interests.
  • Making publication decisions based on reviewers’ recommendations, ethical considerations, and the quality of the manuscript.
  • Taking appropriate action in cases of suspected research misconduct, plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, or other ethical violations.

2. Reviewer Ethics

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Conduct reviews objectively, fairly, and professionally.
  • Provide constructive, evidence-based, and timely feedback to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
  • Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and not disclose or use unpublished information for personal benefit.
  • Inform the editor of any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  • Report any suspicion of plagiarism, ethical misconduct, or substantial similarity with previously published works.

3. Author Ethics

Authors submitting manuscripts to JEI are required to:

  • Submit original and authentic work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • Ensure that all data presented in the manuscript are accurate, reliable, and honestly reported.
  • Properly acknowledge the work of others through appropriate citations and references.
  • Avoid plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct.
  • Clearly identify the contributions of all authors and ensure that all listed authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
  • Disclose all sources of funding and any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Cooperate in the revision process and respond appropriately to reviewers’ and editors’ comments.
  • Notify the editor promptly if a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication.

4. Originality and Plagiarism

JEI only accepts original manuscripts that contribute significantly to educational research and innovation. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the review process.

Manuscripts containing plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, fabrication, falsification, or other forms of unethical conduct will be rejected. If such misconduct is identified after publication, appropriate corrective actions, including article retraction, may be taken.

5. Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, institutional, academic, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the objectivity of the research, review, or publication process.

Any potential conflicts of interest must be declared to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

6. Article Retraction and Correction

JEI reserves the right to publish corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, or retract published articles when significant errors, ethical violations, or research misconduct are identified.

Retractions, corrections, and withdrawals will be handled in accordance with COPE guidelines and will be clearly communicated to readers to preserve the integrity and reliability of the scholarly record.

7. Ethical Oversight

Research involving human participants, educational interventions, surveys, interviews, or other forms of data collection must be conducted in accordance with applicable ethical standards and regulations. Authors are responsible for ensuring that informed consent and ethical approval have been obtained when required.
